The origin of the name and the symbol
Positivo's name was created and suggested by Biology Teacher Samuel Ramos Lago (1941 - 2020), one of its founders. When choosing the name, he used the typical hand gesture of thumbs-up to create the brand.

Creation of the Positivo Preparatory Course and Posigraf
A group of young teachers created a different pre-university entrance course, which would support students until the days before the entrance exam - a pioneer idea in teaching in Brazil. That was how the Positivo Pre- Entrance Course was born. Posigraf's history was born together, for the production of teaching materials with the necessary quality and agility.

Positivo School - High School
Creation of Positivo School - Ângelo Sampaio, which is focused on the current Brazilian high school.
1977
Positivo School - Elementary School
Foundation of Positivo School - Júnior, to offer elementary school.
1979
Positivo Teaching System
The Positivo Teaching System was born,together with the activities of Positivo Distributor. Then the distributor became Positivo Publisher.
1988
Positivo College
After 16 years of dedication to elementary, high school and pre-university entrance exams, and with a consolidated educational program, Positivo Group expands its performance to higher education, with the foundation of Positivo College
1989
Positivo Informatics
In the Informatics course at Positivo College, the project for assembling microcomputers to meet the educational market arises. This idea gave rise to Positivo Informatics (now Positivo Technology), which initially worked within the college.
1998
Positivo University Center
Just 10 years after the creation of its first college courses, a decree signed by the President of the Republic converts Positivo College into Positivo University Center, UnicenP.
1999
Positivo School - Jardim Ambiental
Inauguration of Positivo School - Jardim Ambiental, to meet students in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education and also in High School.
2000
Inauguration of the univeristy campus
Inauguration of the university campus in Campo Comprido, in Curitiba (PR).
2003
Adoption of the Mata do Uru reserve
Posigraf adopts an area of forest to guarantee its conservation. The 131 hectares of Mata do Uru, with several species of plants and animals, are located in the city of Lapa (PR).
2012
Positivo Institute is born
Positivo Institute is born, action which enhances social responsibility actions. Positivo starts the administration of the Positivo Events Center, located in Parque Barigui, in Curitiba (PR).
2013
Inauguration of Positivo international Schoolional
Focused on bilingual education, Positivo International School is inaugurated.
2016
Positivo Group in Santa Catarina
Inauguration of the Positivo School and Positivo Pre-Entrance Course in Joinville (SC).

45 years of Positivo Group
45 years of history and consolidation as one of the largest education groups in Brazil. Arrival in Londrina (PR). Positivo Informatics changes its name to Positivo Technology.

Arrival in Ponta Grossa (PR)
Continuing the expansion of the Teaching area, two headquarters of Positivo School and one of the Positivo Preparatory Course arrive in Ponta Grossa (PR).
2019
Expansion in Paraná
Acquisition of four schools in Paraná: Semeador School, in Foz do Iguaçu; Passo Certo, in Cascavel; and two Expoente units, in Curitiba. In order to invest heavily in other areas of activity and seek growth opportunities, the operation of private education systems and the Center for Higher Studies (CESPO), sponsor of Positivo University, were sold.

All units of Grupo Positivo were certified by the GPTW institute with the badge "Great place to work".

Love Spreads
Mainly represented by Instituto Positivo an active participation in the “Love Spreads" (O Amor Contagia) campaign which was created in the context of the Covid 19 pandemic to raise and allocate resources to hospitals, as well as to support civil society organizations such as nursing homes throughout the state of Paraná.

A new unit in Santa Catarina
Positivo takes over Vila Olímpia School in Florianópolis, expanding its operations in Santa Catarina.

St. James’ International School
Positivo joins a partnership with renowned St. James’ International School – Bilingual Education, a reference institution in international education in the city of Londrina/ PR.
